Every piece is made by hand, so no two are identical

A rug woven in the High Atlas will not match its neighbour stitch for stitch, and a hand-engraved brass tray carries the faint marks of the tool that cut it. Those differences are not flaws. They are the evidence that a person made the object rather than a machine, and they are the first thing to look for when you are deciding whether something is genuinely handmade.

Materials you can check for yourself

Wool should feel dense and slightly oily rather than soft and slippery. Solid brass darkens with handling and shows its colour on an unpolished edge, where plated metal shows the base underneath. On a bone inlay piece, look at the back: an unfinished, honest back usually means the maker spent the time where it shows. Every product page here lists the material, and where we know the workshop, we say so.

We partner with Moroccan artisans and with organisations like the Amal Association, so that traditional craftsmanship supports a sustainable, dignified future for the women of our community. Working alongside the workshops, rather than buying through a wholesale market, is also why we can tell you what a piece is made of and where it came from.
